HYSTORY
The Sydney Opera House is located in the city of Sydney in the state of New South Wales in Australia. is one of the most famous and distinctive buildings of the twentieth century. Declared in 2007 a World Heritage Site, was designed by Danish architect Jørn Utzon in 1957 and opened on October 20, 1973, with the presence of Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom.
In the building are made plays, ballet, opera or musical productions. The company is headquartered Opera Australia, the Sydney Theatre Company and the Sydney Symphony Orchestra. It is administered by the Opera House Trust, a public body under the supervision of the Ministry of Art in New South Wales.
